Helen will be teaching GCSE Music via Zoom for 2020 as a private tutor and can help with composition and performance requirements for all examination boards.
Helen holds a PGCE (Post-Graduate Certificate of Education) from UCL Institute of Education and gained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2001. She is a former Head of Music and has practical knowledge of the OCR exam syllabus for GCSE Music.
Sadly due to the nature of the Edexcel syllabus where composition has to be done under strict classroom conditions, it is not possible to help candidates using this exam board for their final compositions. However, Helen can work around this by working on compositional skills and basic theory so that when you return to the classroom, you'll have the confidence to work on your composition with ease.
Helen is also an experienced performer and can give feedback to any GCSE music performance prior to recording.
All you'll need is pencil, a rubber and some manuscript paper. No computer music programmes are needed.
If you would like help with composition or performance (which is up to 60% of your total GCSE mark!)
